If you live in one region of the US, climate change could kill your economy
Union County, Florida is 250 square miles, nestled in the middle of the state’s pan—not the handle—about an hour southwest of Jacksonville and nearly as far from the state’s southern border. Residents depend on four things for their county’s survival: farming, trucking, timber, and the state’s department of corrections. It is the country’s third congressional district, the state’s smallest county, and the place in Florida that will take the hardest economic hit from climate change, according to a new study released today in the journal Nature.

30,000 bees invade Times Square
NEW YORK CITY (FOX5NY) – A swarm of around 30,000 bees swarmed a hotel in Times Square.
They landed on the roof and a ledge of the building near One Times Square. While many of the bees stayed put, scouring bees flew around looking for a new home.
Bee experts say that is usually the result of a queen bee leaving the group.

Earthquake threat keeps rising as scientists learn more about seismic faults
Drive about 100 miles east-northeast of San Diego and you’ll come to the Salton Sea, a quasi-oasis whose surface is so glassy it reflects the sky in exquisite detail.
Don’t be fooled by the serenity. You’re looking at a potential killer.

Yellowstone Quake ‘Swarm’ Raises Disaster Fears
The “supervolcano” at Yellowstone National Park is being hit by a swarm of hundreds of earthquakes, according to researchers who have been tracking seismic activity this week.
More than 400 have been detected in the area since June 12, including a 4.5 magnitude quake within the park on June 15.
Researchers say the risk of activating the supervolcano is low and the quakes are nothing to be concerned about, as they are common in the region. However, others believe it is inevitable and only a matter of time before such a disaster takes place.
Scientist Michio Kaku recently warned on Fox News the supervolcano is overdue for an eruption and such an event would “rip the guts out of the USA.”
Military option for North Korea being prepared for Trump, McMaster says
The Trump administration is considering a wider range of strategies on how to deal with North Korea, including the military option, Trump’s national security adviser said Wednesday.
“The threat is much more immediate now and so it’s clear that we can’t repeat the same approach – failed approach of the past,” H.R. McMaster, the adviser, said during a security conference with Homeland Security Chief John Kelly.
He said it would be insanity to continue to do the same thing the U.S. has done for years and expect a different result.
