via BAFTAs 2018: Joanna Lumley slammed by viewers for ‘awkward’ speech ‘Get on with it’ | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV | Express.co.uk

The Absolutely Fabulous actress decided to make her opening speech an introduction to each and every nominee at the BAFTAs 2018 awards ceremony tonight.

She began with a cheeky dedication to Churchill actor Gary Oldman, who chuckled in the audience at her jokes about him going undercover for a myriad of roles this year, including Wonder Woman and Yoda.

She then moved on to describe actresses Sally Hawkins and Frances McDormand for their works in The Shape of Water and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri respectively.

But as the introductions continued, it appeared that the nominees were struggling to feign amusement at Joanna’s speech.
