Another winter storm is on the way to parts of our region. It’s a WKYT First Alert Severe Weather Day that runs through Saturday.
Heavy rain and a band of heavy snow will move in later tonight and carry us through Saturday. The heavy snow band sets up from northwest to southeast and will impact areas just north and east of Lexington. The Lexington metro is walking a fine line between rain and snow, with some accumulations possible.
Areas getting under the heavy snow band may pick up several inches of wet snow, that can cause problems.
Outside of the snow, heavy rain of 1″-2″ will be possible, leading to local high water issues.
Sunday into Monday looks much better with only a slight chance for a shower. Temps rebound next week, but a few thunderstorms enter the picture.
