According to the Associated Press, immigration authorities want 15,000 more beds to be ready for detained migrants in the next couple of weeks.

This comes after Trump signed an executive order ending his own family separation policy.

The AP also reported that the Justice Department asked a court in California to detain children longer, in conditions that do not meet typical child welfare standards.
