Kim Davis, the Kentucky county clerk who made national headlines after refusing to issue same-sex marriage licenses after gay marriage was legalized, lost her bid for reelection Tuesday.The Republican county clerk lost to Democrat Elwood Caudill Jr. by about 700 votes, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader.Davis was briefly jailed in September 2015 after the denied a judge’s order to issue the marriage licenses.
