Trump impeachment hearings live: Watch Day 1 of House testimony

The House Intelligence Committee on Wednesday opened its historic public hearings on the impeachment inquiry into President Trump at 10 a.m. in the Capitol.

Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff, the committee’s chair, and Rep. Devin Nunes, the GOP’s ranking member, will each deliver opening statements.

The two witnesses appearing Wednesday — William Taylor, the top diplomat in Ukraine, and George Kent, the deputy assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs — will also deliver opening statements as they appear.

Each will then answer questions from Schiff, Nunes, their top staffers and finally from rank-and-file committee members from both parties.
