DETERRENCE OR PROTECTION
By Bishop Cornelius Duncan
President Trump had all the right answers to policies of illegal immigration at the very beginning. Construction on the border wall between the U.S. and Mexico has recently started again. As we have already noticed, total elimination to access across US borders with barriers is the only proven effective means that stops the flow of illegal immigration and fentanyl. As the result of fentanyl deaths in the US, elimination has become mandatory. The Drug Enforcement Administration reveals that it seized more than 379 million deadly doses of fentanyl in 2022, more than enough to kill every single American.
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), fentanyl is now the top cause of death among US adults (ages 18-45), more than COVID-19, suicide, and car accidents. The CDC reports that of 100,000 adults who died of drug overdoses from 2018 to 2020, a staggering 19,400, or 19 percent, had died after overdosing on fentanyl. The House Judiciary Committee will continue to put pressure on the Biden administration for the ongoing border crisis, tackling the matter in its first hearing of the 118th Congress.
There were also 251,487 illegal alien encounters at the southern border in the month of December, House Judiciary Republicans tweeted earlier this week. That’s over 8,000 per day. Over 300 per hour. Nearly 5 per minute. That number was up from the previous month’s 233,740 total encounters (204,155 unique individuals), a 1% increase from the month before, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection statistics. The Biden Administration immigration policies, and these tragic statistics cannot be continued. Every inch of the border wall must be completed without further delay.
